When an individual or family decides to move into a smaller home a Professional Organizer can help their client make the moving experience smoother.

In a downsizing situation, this usually requires getting rid of certain items to avoid being cluttered and cramped in your new environment. This involves deciding on favorite belongings before the move to determine which items will fit into the new home.

The Professional Organizer also assists in the process of deciding what to do with items that will not be going to the new home such as a garage sale, donating to a favorite local charity, selling on e-bay or giving special items to special friends or family.

A written schedule of moving procedures will also be provided beginning about 4 weeks prior to the move. A floor plan and measurements of existing furniture can be created to reduce unexpected surprises.

Moving/Relocation – When a client is moving or relocating, this service provides a written schedule of “what to do and when to do it” starting about
4 weeks prior to the move.

This can be as detailed as need be, from help packing all the way to unpacking at the new home and getting everything in place. A floor plan and measurements of existing furniture can be created in order to know in advance where every item will fit.
